Brynamman Practice Closure

At Brynteg Dental, our priority has always been to provide safe, reliable, and patient‑centred dentistry. We know that many of our patients at Brynamman value the long‑standing relationships they have built with our team, which is why we are sharing this update as clearly and as early as possible.

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close our Brynamman practice on 1 April 2026. This decision follows the increasing challenges created by the changing NHS dental contract framework in Wales and our responsibility to ensure that the care we deliver remains safe, sustainable, and of the highest standard.

Although the practice is closing, our Brynamman team is not going far. Rhiannon and Kayleigh will continue providing care at our sister practice in Ammanford, just 15 minutes away.

We will no longer be booking appointments for patients under the NHS and as we prepare for this change, we are carefully managing appointments to ensure we can complete ongoing NHS treatments and continue to support patients who need urgent care. It is therefore important to decide now about whether you wish to continue seeing us or whether you wish to source NHS care at another practice.

Learn more about our Ammanford practice here and important changes happening at all of our practices in this news update.

Why is the Brynamman practice closing?

Across Wales, NHS dental practices have experienced significant pressure due to ongoing changes in the NHS dental system. These changes make it increasingly difficult to deliver the level of care we believe patients deserve within NHS constraints.

To protect continuity of care, support our teams, and ensure sustainable, high‑quality dentistry, we are consolidating our services and relocating the team to Ammanford.

What does this mean for my dental care?

We will continue contacting patients directly about any appointments that may be affected, and we’re here to guide you through your options.

If you’d like to secure your place at Ammanford, we recommend joining the Membership Plan as soon as possible.

For general enquiries, please call our Brynamman team on 01269 825418.
We are here to help and support you through this transition.

If you would like to continue seeing your current dentist, you are welcome to register at Brynteg Dental Ammanford under our private Membership Plan. This guarantees your place and ensures continuity of care with the same clinicians you know and trust.

Spaces on the plan are limited and will be offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis, so we encourage patients to register as soon as possible.

Can I continue receiving NHS care?

We will no longer be booking NHS appointments at Brynamman, and we are carefully managing appointments to ensure we can complete ongoing NHS treatments and continue to support patients who need urgent care.

If you wish to continue accessing NHS dental care, you may enrol onto The Dental Access Portal for access to routine NHS dental care by:
